Chop Card Game collects only what it needs to run your account, your games and your purchases, and it does not sell your personal information.
Who we are
Chop Card Game (“Chop”, “we”, “us”) is a card game app made by Marc Lyons in Australia. Contact: chopsupport.au@gmail.com. This policy applies to the Chop app for iPhone, the Chop website (where you can play in a browser), and anything we run to support them.
What we collect
- Account details. On the website you create an account with an email address, a password and a display name. We use your email to identify your account and never share it with other players. Passwords are stored by our database provider in hashed (scrambled) form, and we cannot read them. In the iPhone app, if you sign in with Apple, we receive an account identifier and, if you choose to share them, your name and email address (or Apple’s private relay address). In the iPhone app, playing as a guest creates an anonymous account on our servers (an account identifier, your display name, tokens and game data) so you can play online. It is not linked to your real name or email.
- Profile details. Your display name, your chosen emblem and calling card, and the emblems and cards you have unlocked.
- Game data. Matches played, wins, chops, best chop, token balance, hands played and table results.
- Chat and social. Table chat uses preset quick phrases and emoji only (no free-text messages), so we do not collect typed messages. We also handle friend requests and tips you send to other players.
- Purchases. If real-money purchases are offered, Apple handles payment. We receive confirmation that a purchase happened and what it was. We never see your card details.
- Ads. Chop may offer optional rewarded ads for tokens. If you watch one, our ad provider may collect your device’s advertising identifier and basic device information, and only if you allow tracking when the app asks.
- Browser storage. The website stores a login token and your settings in your browser’s local storage so you stay signed in. You can clear it at any time by logging out or clearing your browser data. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
- Security checks. When you create an account or log in, we use Cloudflare Turnstile to check that you are a real person. Cloudflare may process your IP address and basic browser or device signals for this check.
- Diagnostics. Apple may give us anonymous crash and diagnostic reports if you choose to share them with developers. We do not run our own analytics.
We do not collect your precise location, contacts, photos or microphone data.
How we use it
- To run the game: matching you with other players, keeping your tokens, profile and unlocks, and showing your profile to other players at your table.
- To process purchases and rewards.
- To keep the game fair and safe: detecting cheating, handling reports about players and enforcing our terms.
- To fix problems and improve the game.
- To protect the game from bots and abuse.
- To show rewarded ads, if we offer them and you choose to watch them.
What other players see
Other players can see your display name, emblem, calling card, and game statistics such as matches, wins and best chop. Your friends can also see whether you are online, in a game, or when you were last online. You can turn this off at any time in Settings. Players cannot see your email address or Apple account details.
Who we share it with
We share data only with providers that help us run the game: Apple (sign-in and purchases in the iPhone app), our hosting and database provider (Supabase), Cloudflare (security checks), and, if we add them, our ad provider. They may use the data only to provide their service to us. We may also share data when the law requires it or to protect the safety of players. We do not sell your personal information.
Children
If you believe a child has used the app or website, contact us and we will delete the account. Chop contains simulated card-game gambling with play tokens that have no cash value and cannot be cashed out. It is rated 18+ and is not meant for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and game data while your account is open. When you delete your account in the app or on the website, we delete your profile, balance and unlocks within 30 days, except records we must keep by law, such as purchase records.
Your choices and rights
- Delete your account from Settings, in the app or on the website, at any time.
- Ask us for a copy of the data we hold about you, or to correct it, by emailing chopsupport.au@gmail.com. We reply within 30 days.
- Say no to ad tracking in your iPhone settings or when the app asks.
- If you are in Australia, you can also complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner. If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have the rights set out in the GDPR, including access, correction, deletion, and objection.
Security
Data is sent over encrypted connections and stored with access controls. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Where data is stored
Our database is hosted with Supabase on servers in Sydney, Australia. Your data may be processed in other countries by the providers listed above.
Changes to this policy
If we make a material change, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated.
